- Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language is required. Ability to converse in Arabic is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a luxury hotel or similar environment is considered an asset.
- Flexible with schedule and prepared to work a variety of shifts, including overtime and adjust shift and/or off days according to operational requirements.
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item, origin, taste, and preparation methods.
- Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen; coordinate food timings; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations as well as the back-of-house areas.
- Retrieve and stock all linen, china, silver, glassware and food and beverage items.
- Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard.
What You Bring
- At least 2 years’ experience in the similar role in a five-star luxury hotel.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Arabic is a plus.
- Active listening skills.

- Requires attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Prepare and cook food in staff cafeteria according to standard procedures, recipe cards, photographs and given instructions.
- Help the Chef de Partie/Demi Chef de Partie to establish standard recipes and ensure the compliance with them.
- Ensure food quality, food taste, food presentation and food requisition.
- Constantly inspect and refill buffet.
- Have a good knowledge of cuisines to carry out the duties and responsibilities for the position in an efficient and productive manner.
- Ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed and the kitchen is always clean, neat and tidy.
