- Work on cross-functional development of custom LLMs with diverse stakeholders (Engineering + Ops + Go-to-Market)
- Consistently read AI/ML research papers to keep up-to-date on the best approaches for customizing / training LLMs
- Work on fine-tuning (post-training) data production pipelines to improve the custom LLM solutions as needed
- Work on the continuous evaluation of custom LLMs

- Oversee on-boarding and successful implementation for new Data Engine projects
- Manage the long-term health of customers by identifying and preempting areas of risk or concern
- Partner with clients to understand operational issues and advocate for their fixes with Scale engineers
- Work directly with customer’s engineering teams, partnering with customer-facing MLEs and Field Engineering
- Work directly with customer’s engineering teams, answering questions and addressing issues with use of our API

- Proficiency in reading and writing in Arabic
- 4-9 years of total work experience, with experience in consulting or as a technical program management role in industry
- Associate / Senior Consultant / Engagement Manager role at a Big 3 Consulting Firm
- A technical background (education or professional experience with CS, Economics, Statistics, Engineering)
- A proven track record in B2B client facing roles and expanding client relationships
- Ability to understand APIs and the ML training lifecycle and build great relationships with technical customers
- Great cross-functional experience and collaborative ability
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- A track record of structured, analytics-driven problem solving
- A history of diligence and organization across multiple work streams

- Ideate on the best and most useful ways to evaluate quality for Arabic LLMs specifically (especially dialectic and safety)
- Scope custom LLM solutions and approaches to solve real-world problems for our public sector customers
- Quickly prototype and build new deep learning models targeted at frontier capabilities
- At least 3 to 5 years of model training, deployment and maintenance experience in a production environment
- Strong skills in NLP, LLMs and deep learning
- Published research in areas of machine learning at major conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, EMNLP, CVPR, etc.) and/or journals
- Native or highly proficient fluency in speaking, writing, and reading Arabic
- At least 2+ years of model training, deployment and maintenance experience in a production environment
- Trained deep learning models + have built up that skillset
- Strong skills in NLP, LLMs and deep learning
- Ability and interest in traveling to the client site in the Middle East region at least one week each month
- Proficient in reading and writing in Arabic
- Past experience working at a startup or in a forward-deployed role
- Has experience working cross functionally with operations
- Experience in dealing with large scale AI problems, ideally in the generative-AI field
- Demonstrated expertise in large vision-language models for diverse real-world applications, e.g. classification, detection, question-answering, etc.
- Published research in areas of machine learning at major conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, EMNLP, CVPR, etc.) and/or journals
- Strong high-level programming skills (e.g., Python), frameworks and tools such as DeepSpeed, Pytorch lightning, Kuberflow, TensorFlow, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to operate in a cross functional team environment
- Lead cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders (Engineering + Ops + Go-to-Market)
- Develop new products or enhance existing ones to fulfill the needs of strategic customers or initiatives
- Own the execution of our data labeling operations for strategic projects
- Give regular progress updates to Scale’s executive team
- Work on some of the most impactful problems at the company
- Strong technical background (a degree in computer science is ideal, and at minimum the role requires the ability to do data analytics using SQL or Python).
- Proficiency in reading and writing in Arabic
- 2+ years of experience leading a team, developing product or operational processes, or as a SWE.
- Strong problem solving capabilities (experience working on operational challenges or as a consultant is a plus).
- Entrepreneurial experience and mindset – you are excited about building things from scratch
