  • The Procurement Officer reports directly to the Supervisor/Purchase Manager, and has a support responsibility to all functional departments and personnel.
  • Responsible to coordinate the procurement cycle of specific products or services as per the Purchase request assignment.
  • Responsible to assist the Supervisor/Purchase Manager to deal with the Companies and suppliers of equipment, conduct negotiations with suppliers and make a cost comparison between them. Prepare Management executive summary obtain necessary approval as per policy before creating purchase order.
  • Responsible for expediting the purchase request and orders, and overseeing receiving and dispersal of all items.
  • Procure products/materials, equipment and services in a timely manner.
  • Researches and selects products according to quality, price and serviceability standards. Contacts vendors and hospital personnel to ensure actions are completed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Reviews contracts to evaluate overall revisions, price, and past performance of each contract prior to bid or renewal.
  • Organizes, updates and retains product information files and purchase order records.
  • Maintain files and records of purchases, PRs, Contracts etc.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures of Dar Al-Shifa’s objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed
  • Provides or promotes people centered care
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business administration, economics or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Work requires 5-6 years’ related business
  • Licensure: Not applicable
  • Language: Proficiency in English and Arabic Languages.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills
  • Creative and Innovating Thinking
  • Communication- Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading Comprehension
  • Interaction with Others- Influencing Others, Relationship Building, Teamwork & Valuing Diversity
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, dependable, analytical and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in purchasing with product knowledge.
  • To handle the all-incoming requests from all the areas. Receive, log them and ensure that the request is acted on.
  • To liaise with Maintenance department on maintenance request and sent request through SAP.
  • To provide a courteous and efficient telephone manner according to DASH standard.
  • Taking the bookings for the meeting rooms and follow up on necessary arrangements.
  • To liaise with reception department regarding the guest requests and update them on the status.
  • To ensure that room status changes are updated in SAP every time and where necessary communicated with admission department for the changes.
  • To control the house keeping supplies and assist in the inventory procedure.
  • To ensure that guest expectations are met or exceeded by providing an efficient, friendly and attentive service.
  • Assists in the administration of the department by completing the necessary forms, documents and log books in a timely and accurate manner as directed.

  • Handles the customer complaints if possible or reports to HOD.
  • Make appropriate suggestion and recommendation to HOD for the general improvement of the section.
  • Polite and professional in any situation where the image or regulation of the hospital is represented.
  • Contributes to moral and team spirit of the hospital by maintaining effective relationship with colleagues.
  • Updating of day today/weekly/Monthly departmental reports
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides or promotes people centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Collect the information about the infection cases admitted and relay the information to supervisors and related housekeeping staff.
  • Record and filing of all the support service-related documents.
  • Create maintenance notification in SAP and follow up.
  • Follow up on support services related purchasing request.
  • Managing the real time room status update on SAP
