- Experience as Manager of Managers, as well as direct Manager of Engineers.
- Deep technical understanding and motivation to drill down into technical conversations. Knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Java).
- Solution architecture experience gives you the ability to drive technical decision-making and to give Engineers technical direction and clarity.
- Hands-on mentality: you drill down into technical or organizational issues as they occur and unblock Engineers with support on an operational level.
- Can think on your feet: to meet ambitious timelines you can quickly translate strategic direction into tactical and operational decisions to maintain high velocity within the teams.
- You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software.
- You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset.
- Design, develop and maintain Kubernetes Operators to manage Camunda 8 applications in our SaaS offering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features efficiently.
- Use your experience and help maintain code quality, processes, and automation on an efficient and lean level.
- Push to innovate and foster a culture of pragmatic thinking and continuous growth.
- Provide 3rd level support and be part of our on-call rotation
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Focus on building and evolving identity, authentication, and permission solutions for the Camunda platform.
- Work as part of a team, including reviewing code, helping review incidents, and fixing CVEs as applicable
- Design/architect solutions for identity and authentication stories/epics
- Developing features and improvements to the product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way that meet our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices. You will maintain and advocate for these standards through code reviews.
- Fixing bugs and applying refactorings that solidify our product today and for future requirements, based on prioritization by value.
- Collaborating with Product Management, Product Designers, fellow Engineers and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Helping our customers resolve problems operating and using our software as part of 3rd-level support.
- Performing spikes to discover technical requirements and solutions to problems with high technical uncertainty.
What You Bring:
- Ability and/or willingness to use our product
- Advanced experience working with a JVM based language
- Experience with frontend frameworks like React or Angular
- Strong analytical problem-solving and root-causing skills
- High degree of curiosity and passion about what you do
- You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software. You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset.
- Shape integrated C8SM infrastructure solutions based on vision, customer feedback, and community input.
- Provide feedback to the other teams (e.g., Helm chart team) to improve the quality of the customer-facing solutions.
- Craft clean, modular, extensible, and maintainable code for cloud infrastructure, adhering to best practices and standards.
- Share expertise internally through discussions, workshops, and presentations, fostering team growth.
- This is a remote role and can be based anywhere we are eligible to hire, please find a list of available countries here. Please note that the majority of this team is based in the Central European Timezone, and an overlap of 5 working hours is required for collaboration.
