- Provide legal advice on a broad spectrum of issues, including contract negotiation, intellectual property, employment matters, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting the foundation
- Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements, contracts, and legal documents to protect the organization’s interests. Ensure that contractual arrangements comply with legal requirements and align with the foundation’s objectives.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing corporate governance practices.
- Advise on compliance with corporate laws and regulations.
- Identify and assess legal risks in business operations and propose effective strategies for risk mitigation.
- Manage and oversee litigation matters, working closely with AGI & external counsel when necessary. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop legal strategies in response to legal disputes
- Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements. This will include the following considerations:
- Correct legal positioning (i.e. choice of jurisdiction, contract type, choice of applicable data protection legislation etc)
- The legal strategy supports the success of the project (i.e choice of contract length, termination clauses etc)
- Gaining appropriate input from colleagues on the compliance team (awards/ R&C) and the programs, M&E, finance, and communications teams
- Making informed decisions about when to seek external legal counsel for matters of specialization
- Working closely with corporate Legal department to gain necessary review and approvals (while ensuring legal matters are fully finalized to minimize time needed by corporate Legal)
- Providing internal legal advice. This would include:
- Providing opinions to senior leadership
- Reviewing non-contractual positions
- Adding a legal component to all policies and procedures
- Supporting R&C with legal implications of risks.

Knowledge and Skills
- Contract law (essential)
- Commercial law (essential)
- Data protection (preferred)
- Risk and Compliance (preferred)Excellent written and spoken English language (Arabic will be an advantage).
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified lawyer (member of bar in home jurisdiction) with LLM in Corporate Law preferable,
- 8-10 years of experience working as in-house legal specialist, NGO experience will be advantageous
Full-time, remote (based in the time zone with maximum of 2 hours difference with UAE)
