- Prospect, qualify and close deals from new advertisers. Even with an established book of business, you will still be expected to grow new business.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing advertisers via consultative sales, exceptional customer service, and ongoing education and promotion of Tumblr’s audience and offerings, leading to renewals, upsells, and expanded opportunities.
- Lead the development of RFP responses and proactive pitches in partnership with Account Management, Creative Services, and other cross-functional partners.
- Maintain familiarity with the Tumblr platform, its evolving consumer and advertiser offerings, and the audiences that drive it.
- Represent Tumblr in the market (online and in-person) as a thought leader and evangelist for our audience and offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development: Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing support team. Ensure that team members have clear career roadmaps and development plans.
- Capacity Planning and Scheduling: Grow the support team from a small startup into one that can handle a rapidly growing customer base. Ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation for 24/7 support. This includes managing emergency AFKs (Away From Keyboard, i.e. absences) to ensure adequate coverage and appropriate skill sets for customers, especially as we rapidly scale.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies that improve customer satisfaction (CSAT) while maintaining high service level agreements (SLA) standards.
- Have at minimum 3+ years of experience launching successful GTM for B2B products and services.
- At least 1 year of experience working in marketing to technical buyers, developer marketing, or related fields.
- Have a strong technical understanding of CMS systems, and experience working with WordPress, PHP, or related technologies. Strong plus if you’ve developed your own plugins or themes.
- Strong communication skills, capable of switching between business discussions and communication with technical staff.
- Have experience working closely with enterprise sales teams on messaging, content, and playbooks.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a book of WordPress VIP customers, developing an understanding of the customer’s business objectives and success metrics.
- Partner with the Customer Success team to ensure customer retention.
- Identify and pursue strategic opportunities for expansion within the accounts.
- Steer complex pricing negotiations with key stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate needs, alerts, and statuses internally.
What We Are Looking For
- Extensive experience in brand and marketing creative design working on consumer brands or products in an agency or in-house environments.
- A design portfolio with examples of brand and web design work showing your keen eye for good design and attention to detail.
- Proactive attitude in leading big design changes and being comfortable to challenge the status quo.
- Ability to take projects from creation to final execution, managing and prioritizing multiple projects with various stakeholders.
