Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage the Desk Engineering operations within the designated country to ensure alignment with regional strategies and objectives.
  • Coordinate with local sales and technical teams to implement geozone / global directives effectively at the country level.
  • Provide on-ground technical knowledge and support to local customers, assisting with troubleshooting and optimization of Well Construction products and services.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly, ensuring compliance with both global guidelines and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with the global  R&D and product management teams to facilitate the introduction and adaptation of new technologies and products within the country.
  • Ensure that local operations are equipped to handle new technologies and provide feedback to regional teams on local market responses and potential improvements.
  • Conduct regular safety trainings and audits to maintain high safety standards and awareness among the team.
  • Generate technical documentation and proposals as required, ensuring clear communication and documentation standards are met.
  • Assist operations with on-the-job support as needed, leveraging expertise to enhance operational outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Deep understanding of well construction products and services, including but not limited to Liner Hangers, Cementing Products, Inflatable Packers, and Swellables.
  • Proficiency in job design software and technical specifications calculations relevant to well construction.
  • Ability to perform pre-job calculations, validate job designs, and select appropriate equipment based on technical requirements.
  • Competence in handling technical documentation and equipment procedures ensuring all operations meet industry and company standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively address operational challenges and optimize processes.
  • Capability to adapt to changing operational demands and resilient in managing operational challenges and emergencies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, or related field). This foundational requirement ensures the candidate has a solid technical understanding necessary for the role.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in well construction, drilling, or related oilfield services. This demonstrates practical knowledge and hands-on skills.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in Desk Engineering or a similar role that involves technical sales support, product development, or customer interaction in the oil and gas industry.
  • Advanced technical skills in software relevant to well construction and design, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering design tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects and derive actionable insights from vast data sets. 

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with quality, safety, and company policies
  • Generate new business, increase revenue and service existing customers within an assigned geographical area
  • Ensure Marketing/Sales initiatives and objectives align with Weatherford’s overall programs, objectives and plans
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to customers, sales personnel, and potential customers
  • Attend product line specific training sessions
  • Work with sales staff and R&D to propose changes to existing products and introduce new ones
  • Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality
  • Comply with Weatherford Quality Policy and all Quality Systems Manual requirements
  • Carry out work assignments to the highest quality level
  • Monitor technical content of job proposals to ensure technical standards are upheld
  • Assist and support new product introduction/development
  • Develop and present technical courses internally and externally
  • Monitor District, Field and Trainee Engineers’ career development process
  • Develop regional marketing communications material for new product/service launches
  • Provide field technical support as needed
  • Assist in technical investigations and problem job reporting
  • Design and develop new applications and scenarios to fulfil customer requirements efficiently
  • Maintain sales contacts with key customers
  • Support the overall technology strategy
  • Advise sales personnel, customers and potential customers on technical issues
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and overview of Quality assurance
  • Assist sales personnel in the preparation of bids
  • Meet with customers to develop and design products and services
  • Train customers and/or field personnel on new products
  • Handle special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work closely with internal customers
  • Self-motivated and committed to service quality
  • Preferred skills: Computer Aided Drafting (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE or equivalent), ability to liaise between Customer and Weatherford
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Field Experience or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Application Engineering (AE I) Experience or equivalent
